Chev. Emanuel Borg Gauci (1911-1991)

Maltese sculptor and artist. Awarded in 1961 the Sir Otto Beit medal for the best sculpture in the Commonwealth. This was the first time this prestigious medal was awarded to an overseas sculptor. The sculpture was the Bronze Angels and Reliefs for the new base of the 17th Century statue of St. Dominic in Valletta.

Assistant to Chev. Edward Caruana Dingli (1876-1950) for many years. Spent 7 years in South Africa from where most of his work was stolen from his studio. His works are in the Museum of Fine Arts in Malta, South Africa, Australia and in various private collections worldwide.
